Fast-R NITRO™ Elite 3 combines state-of-the-art technology with cutting-edge design, providing runners a rate of efficiency that could potentially shave minutes off your race day records - evidenced in a research study conducted by the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
The study, led by industry specialist Wouter Hoogkamer, concluded that Fast-R NITRO™ Elite 3 provides 3.15% improved running economy, which for a 3-hour marathon runner translates to an unprecedented potential marathon time saving of more than 4 minutes and 30 seconds.
Engineered with elite runners and tested on real athletes, Fast-R NITRO™ Elite 3 weighs an astonishing 95 grams less than its predecessor. The decoupled midsole has received a fierce upgrade, with a new NITROFOAM™ ELITE compound providing next level cushion and responsiveness.

PUMA athlete Amanal Petros made history on home soil at the Berlin Half Marathon as he set another new personal best and broke his own national record.
Wearing FAST-R NITRO™ Elite 3, PUMA’s elite race day shoe engineered to obliterate personal bests, Petros delivered the performance of his lifetime to finish in 3rd place with a time of 59:22 – nine seconds quicker than his time in the same race in 2025.
Speaking after the race, Amanal Petros said: “What a feeling. It felt like everything that I have been working towards over the last year with PUMA - and in my recent training programme in Kenya - paid off on the course today. I’m very happy with my performance, and this just makes me even more determined for success at the London Marathon next month.”
There was more joy for PUMA athletes in the women’s race, as Esther Pfeiffer of Germany and Belgium’s Chloe Herbiet also smashed their half marathon personal bests, wearing FAST-R NITRO™ Elite 3.
Four-time national half marathon champion Pfeiffer continued her magnificent form over this distance as she took three seconds off her previous record time, finishing 5th in 67:25. Meanwhile Herbiet, already the regining European Half Marathon champion and Belgian national record across the marathon and 10k distances, took more than two and a half minutes off her previous half marathon PB as she set another national record with
a time of 67:32.
