New Balance Vongo- A versatile support shoe
My very first Gait Analysis revealed that when I run I overpronate, essentially meaning I run in over the arch of my feet. This showed that for my feet a shoe that comes with a level of arch support in it would be beneficial to help avoid things like ankle, knee and hip pain and help to avoid something even worse...an injury.
And so the quest began to find the best support shoe, a long and at times frustrating process, especially for somebody so picky about their running shoes in terms of making sure they are the perfect fit, and are equally comfortable, light and supportive.
It wasn't until I found the New Balance Vongo Version 4 that I found the stability shoe that suited all of my running trainer criteria and I have stuck with it ever since! Most recently, New Balance released the Version 6, and in my opinion it has been the best yet!
The reason that I love the New Balance Vongo so much is because it incorporates the iconic Fresh Foam technology making the shoe incredibly comfortable, combining this with a new EVA plate which helps to add the perfect amount of support for my mild overpronation. I believe that the New Balance Vongo is the best shoe for everything running. It works in a range of running environments, from sessions to tempos to Sunday Long Runs, as well having good breathability for warmer days, it is the shoe that I rely on for everything, highlighting it as a shoe that can do everything whilst still offering support. When at times many support shoes seem to be too stiff and uncomfortable the versatility of the Vongo makes it a stand out in shoes for overpronators.
