Pure Running launched in 2012 and is one of NI & Ireland’s leading running specialists. Many of our team have worked in the specialist running retail and running event management for over 15 years - giving us a depth of knowledge when it comes to recommending running and walking shoes to our customers. As a team, we have over 100 years running retail experience ....but don’t tell anyone, as it makes us feel old 😊 Running keeps us young!
With our passion for running (and walking), we carefully choose only the best shoes and brands for our customers. Our focus is on comfort, fit and feel. Gait analysis is a wonderful tool to assist us helping you but the key is knowledge, expert advice and being able to relate to all our customers who call in - or connect with us online. We walk, we run and we love to help you.
Our team are runners of all abilities, age, distance and speed. Locally, we have helped with many Couch 2 5k programs. Many of us run in our local park runs. I have personally ran 4 x London marathons, New York marathon and 4 x Belfast marathons, many halves, Gaelforce adventure races and been a member of North Down AC for 15 years. I have helped 9 novice runners complete the Belfast city marathon in BBC TV show ‘Going the Distance’
Our team have worked in and around the ‘Pure Running Half Marathon Series’ for the past 8 years - helping runners prepare and get ready for their next 13.1 mile event.
In 2007, I founded the Runher brand - an event taking a lead from the Women’s mini marathon in Dublin. We have had over 20 x Runher events with over 20,000 plus walkers and runners taking part in these events. We have been honoured to have Dame Mary Peters help us and take part in many of these along with soap actresses from Coronation St and Eastenders - along with all our brilliant Runher ladies striving to achieve their running and fitness goals.
We are a major retail partner of the Dublin City marathon, with many of our team working in and around the expo for 15 plus years.
Catriona has been a member of Lagan Valley AC since childhood, has ran London marathon and ran for Ulster. Jenny is a triathlete and can often be found on many starting lines of adventure races around Ireland. Conal, Piarais and Brendan are all North Belfast Harriers and been running before they could walk (literally). These guys are fast and love really putting our shoes to the test. Cameron runs for North Down AC and QUB Athletics and been running since 4 years old. I told you - we all love running. Brian has ran many marathons around the world - Rome, London, Chicago to name a few..... His ‘playground’ is the Mourne mountains ⛰ and can often be found there with ‘Blue’ his cocker spaniel. Des is a veteran of Belfast marathon 83 and 85 and has never lost his passion for running but especially helping others. Barry is our ultra runner while Jared (now at Oxford University) returns and helps us on holidays. We have all started somewhere in running and that is why we just love helping people achieve their goals - no matter the distance, speed, terrain or time. It is all about getting outdoors and moving 😊🙏💙
